The Fiscal Specialist - Payroll position at the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio (ESCCO) is responsible for assisting in the effective operation of the treasurer's office, with a strong emphasis on payroll processing. The role requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks. A background in school payroll is strongly preferred, and customer service is a key focus for both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the effective operation of the treasurer's office.
• Process payroll and ensure accuracy in payroll calculations.
• Provide customer service to internal and external customers regarding payroll inquiries.
• Maintain compliance with drug-free workplace rules and board policies.
• Document and maintain a clear criminal record as per requirements.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in accounting preferred.
• Knowledge of payroll and payroll processing.
• Accounting skills with the ability to compute mathematical data accurately.
• Experience with governmental fiscal operation procedures is desired.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and automated data processing systems.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
