About the position

Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! MCCS is a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community. We offer a team oriented environment comprised of military personnel, civilian employees, contractors and volunteers who keep the organization functioning smoothly and effectively. The purpose of this position is to oversee daily operations of a fitness facility, supervise civilian and/or military staff, and act as the MCCS area liaison/representative with the area command, sharing information about Semper Fit activities, events, and programming. This person must be able to communicate and work with a diverse population. This position reports directly to the Fitness Facilities Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of a fitness facility.
  • Supervise civilian and/or military staff.
  • Act as the MCCS area liaison/representative with the area command.
  • Responsible for the overall operation and control of the area recreational programs, property and equipment.
  • Supervise layout and cleanliness of the fitness center, High Intensity Tactical Training (HITT) center, and surrounding areas.
  • Manage financial budgets for the facility.
  • Conduct biometric assessments and teach group exercise classes.
  • Support all Warrior Athlete Readiness and Resilience (WARR) programming and services.
  • Provide World Class Customer Service.
  • Resolve complaints and grievances from staff and patrons.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree in exercise science, exercise physiology, kinesiology, fitness or related field.
  • Three years of appropriate experience.
  • Personal trainer certification from a nationally accredited certifying organization, or obtain certification within 6 months of employment.
  • Group Exercise certification from a nationally accredited certifying organization, or obtain certification within 6 months of employment.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Certified in CPR within 6 months of employment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Windows.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
