About the position

The Fitness Equipment Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of fitness equipment in both commercial and residential settings. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to ensure that all equipment operates safely and efficiently. The technician will perform routine maintenance, diagnose issues, and collaborate with team members to enhance service efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on fitness equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Install new fitness equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
• Utilize an ohmmeter to measure electrical resistance in equipment components.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and inventory of parts.
• Collaborate with team members to improve service efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in electronics or mechanical systems is preferred.
• Proven experience as a technician or in a similar role, particularly with fitness equipment.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, including the ability to use an ohmmeter effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills to interact with clients and colleagues effectively.
• Physical stamina to lift heavy equipment and perform manual tasks as required.
