About the position

Phit Nation is seeking a certified Group Exercise Instructor to lead fitness classes for military personnel and their families at Robins Air Force Base. This contract position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the health and well-being of service members while working in a supportive military environment. Instructors will be responsible for delivering engaging and safe fitness classes, tracking attendance, and maintaining compliance with health and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lead scheduled group fitness classes including HIIT, Boot Camp, Yoga, TRX, Spin, and Strength & Conditioning.
• Deliver safe, effective, and engaging fitness classes that cater to all fitness levels.
• Provide modifications and adjustments to exercises for different fitness levels and health conditions.
• Ensure sessions include proper warm-up, exercise instruction, perceived exertion checks, and cool-down periods.
• Track attendance and record participant breakdowns, submitting reports as required.
• Maintain a neat appearance and wear approved fitness attire during sessions.
• Use fitness equipment appropriately and ensure no damage or misuse occurs during classes.
• Participate in periodic instructor evaluations and professional development programs.
• Comply with safety and health protocols, including CPR/BLS, AED certifications, and required liability insurance.

Requirements

• Certified in at least one group exercise discipline (ACE, NASM, AFAA, ACSM, NETA, etc.).
• Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications are required.
• Minimum of 6 months experience instructing group fitness classes with 20 or more participants.
• Ability to pass background checks for access to Robins Air Force Base.
• Must maintain up-to-date certifications and liability insurance throughout the contract duration.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working in a military setting is preferred but not required.
