About the position

The Fitness Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of group fitness classes, ensuring high service standards and exceptional member experiences. This role includes managing staff, developing fitness programs, and driving sales initiatives to meet organizational goals. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a passion for health and fitness, and a commitment to creating a positive environment for both employees and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the group fitness team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective performance.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate fitness programs that meet the needs of a diverse clientele.
  • Oversee employee orientation and training to ensure that group class instructors have the necessary skills.
  • Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to achieve sales targets.
  • Utilize retail math and budgeting skills to manage operational expenses effectively.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety within the facility.
  • Foster a motivating environment that encourages team collaboration and individual growth.
  • Conduct regular assessments of member satisfaction and implement improvements as needed.
  • Supervise daily operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of retail math and budgeting principles.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proven experience in team management and supervising staff in a fitness or retail environment.
  • Knowledge of sales techniques and sales management strategies.
  • Ability to develop effective employee orientation programs that enhance team performance.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with staff and members.
  • A passion for fitness and wellness, with a commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle.
