About the position

The Fitness Service Technician at the YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City is responsible for servicing and repairing various exercise equipment, ensuring that all fitness machines are functional and safe for member use. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs, as well as utilizing work order software for documentation. The technician will work under the direction of the Executive Director of Facilities and collaborate with other management to maintain a clean and organized workspace while promoting the YMCA's core values.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair a variety of exercise equipment including treadmills, ellipticals, and recumbent bikes.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance and inspections of equipment.
• Identify, diagnose, and fix problems with equipment efficiency.
• Order and install parts using work software to minimize downtime.
• Analyze and review equipment data to ensure even use of equipment on the fitness floor.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace for tools and equipment.
• Utilize a company vehicle for travel to job sites.
• Attend occasional manufacturer certifications that may require out-of-state travel.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude with experience working with tools.
• Certification in CPR, AED, and First Aid (training provided if needed).
• Ability to operate hand tools and perform maintenance on equipment.
• Good communication skills to relate effectively to diverse groups.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in electrical work or manufacturing.
• Knowledge of automotive diagnostics.
