About the position

Quality Plant Services LLC is seeking to fill 75 temporary full-time fitter positions in Ingleside, Texas. The role involves interpreting engineering drawings, measuring and cutting steel components, and ensuring structural integrity through various assembly techniques. The position requires adherence to safety protocols and collaboration with team members to ensure efficient project execution.

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine layout and assembly procedures.
• Measure, cut, fit, and shape steel pipe and plate components using hand and power tools.
• Perform layout and fitting of structural steel members according to project requirements.
• Align and fit structural and pipe steel components using welding, bolting, and riveting techniques.
• Verify dimensions and alignments of assembled components using measuring tools.
• Fabricate, install, and weld temporary support structures as needed during assembly.
• Collaborate with welders, crane operators, and other team members to coordinate workflow.
• Adhere to safety protocols and OSHA safety rules to maintain a safe working environment.
• Inspect and test completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in a clean and organized manner.

Requirements

• Must have 12 months fitter experience.
• Must pass a pre-hire drug test and medical physical.
• Must pass a written and functional test administered at the project worksite.
• Must be able to lift and/or move a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Must be willing and able to climb and work in high places exceeding 200 feet and in confined spaces.

Benefits

• Compensation at $26.12/hour for 40 hours per week.
• Transportation paid for or provided from the place of origin to the place of employment after 50% of the employment period is completed.
• Daily subsistence compensation during travel, up to $59.00 per day with receipts.
