About the position

The Fixed Asset Manager is responsible for creating and managing complex accounting records of county fixed assets through the Financial Management system. This role involves utilizing purchasing and accounts payable documentation, conducting physical verifications of assets, and preparing monthly accounting reports related to capital purchases. The position also includes administering the sale of surplus property and ensuring compliance with various registration processes.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage accounting records of county fixed assets.
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly accounting reports of capital purchase additions.
  • Schedule and perform on-site physical verification of County's assets.
  • Organize and administer the sale of county surplus and salvage property.
  • Prepare and process forms for titles, license plates, and registrations.
  • Submit work orders for relocation of items to surplus for sale.
  • Update the Financial System and Risk Manager with asset changes.
  • Prepare specifications for online auctions and revenue analysis for Commissioners Court.
  • Research asset records to support inventory analysis.
  • Prepare training materials and train County personnel on inventory accountability.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a related field.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
