About The Position

The Fixed Crew Processing Worker I position at Goodwill Industries of San Diego County involves processing, sorting, cleaning, tagging, and storing donated goods while providing excellent customer service to donors. This role is essential in maintaining the organization and efficiency of donation processing, contributing to the mission of providing job readiness training and employment opportunities to individuals with disabilities and barriers to employment.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
• Processor experience preferred.
• Ability to become forklift certified preferred (required for North County Clearance Center).
• Ability to recognize name brand clothing and high quality merchandise preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently sorts different types of donations per category following all guidelines found in the Fixed Crew Training Manual.
• Safely and efficiently prepares and labels items for transport, according to guidelines found in the Fixed Crew Training Manual.
• Keeps work station clean and clutter-free at all times.
• Maintains donation processing tables in an organized, clutter-free manner.
• Maintains work station according to Kaizen (continual improvement) philosophy.
• Meets production standards and completes daily tally sheets.
• Cleans and tags product as needed according to the guidelines found in the Fixed Crew Training Manual.
• Inspects and tests certain small electrical appliances and determines their operability, for example, fans, radios, toaster, etc., as assigned.
• Accepts donations according to company guidelines found in the Fixed Crew Training Manual, providing excellent customer service to donors.
• Safeguards all donations and company property from damage and theft.
• Follows all safety rules and regulations and performs all assigned duties in a safe manner according to all company safety guidelines.
