About the position

Wellington Management is seeking a Research Associate to join its Early Career Investor Program within the Investment Grade Credit Research team in Boston. This role involves conducting fundamental investment research, analyzing companies, and collaborating with portfolio managers to generate investment ideas and monitor existing portfolio holdings. The position emphasizes teamwork, communication, and a passion for financial markets.

Responsibilities

• Work with senior IG analysts to analyze stocks across a variety of sectors within Industrials and Telecom.
• Develop unique research insights to arrive at well-supported investment conclusions.
• Independently conduct proprietary credit research based on data gathered from company filings and management meetings.
• Build multi-year financial models to determine appropriate valuations under various scenarios.
• Help generate successful investment ideas and monitor positions across client strategies.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues, sharing ideas and offering feedback.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of relevant experience as a Credit or Equity Analyst, gained either on the Buy or Sell side with an asset manager, hedge fund, investment bank or private credit firm.
• Prior experience working in an IG credit research team or covering Telecom and/or Industrials sectors is preferred.
• Strong understanding of company financial statements.
• Strong work ethic, curious mindset, and strong attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in a collaborative, results-oriented environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Progress towards the CFA/CAIA Charter would be viewed favorably.
