About the position

Human-I-T is seeking an experienced Fleet & Equipment Manager to oversee and optimize the operations, maintenance, and safety of the company-owned vehicles and equipment. This role is critical for ensuring the efficiency, compliance, and safety of all fleet and facility operations across the organization. The Fleet & Equipment Manager will manage related budgets, enforce safety protocols, and coordinate with various departments to support operational needs, significantly impacting the operational effectiveness of Human-I-T.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of the company’s vehicle fleet to ensure optimal safety, efficiency, and compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Schedule and conduct regular preventative maintenance and repairs for all fleet vehicles to minimize downtime and extend vehicle life.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive policies and procedures for fleet management, including vehicle scheduling, inspections, repairs, etc.
  • Train all new drivers on company protocols, safety standards, and proper vehicle handling to ensure high levels of preparedness and competence.
  • Monitor and ensure that all drivers maintain good standing with the DMV, including regular checks and updates on driving records.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the facility, including light repairs, machine upkeep, and coordination with onsite vendors to maintain operational integrity.
  • Oversee the logistics and movement of company furniture, equipment, and supplies, ensuring efficient handling, placement, and installation.
  • Ensure the security and safety of the parking lot, public spaces, and common areas by implementing measures to prevent unauthorized access and ensure the safety of all employees and visitors.
  • Coordinate and supervise all aspects of facility management, including safety checks and emergency procedures.
  • Manage vendor relationships for maintenance, repairs, cleaning, and equipment procurement to ensure quality service and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain an inventory system for vehicles, tools, equipment, and facility supplies, ensuring all resources are properly accounted for and available when needed.
  • Ensure all fleet and facility operations comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct routine safety checks and minor repairs in-house to maintain compliance and ensure a safer work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field; certification in fleet/facility management preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fleet or facilities management, preferably in a multi-location organization.
  • Proven track record of improving fleet efficiency, ensuring compliance, and reducing costs.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams and external vendor relationships.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
