About the position

The Fleet Maintenance Manager at MV Transportation is a senior professional responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations of the bus fleet. This role involves managing day-to-day maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and preparing various reports. The manager will also be tasked with budget management for the maintenance program and will lead a team of technicians and service workers.

Responsibilities

• Manage all day-to-day maintenance aspects of the bus operation.
• Ensure all contractual requirements are achieved.
• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
• Manage a budget for the maintenance program.
• Track and control parts inventories, vendors, and suppliers.
• Prioritize, implement, and manage work schedules, projects, and assignments.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of staff in written and oral formats.

Requirements

• At least three (3) years of recent and relevant experience managing maintenance functions of a transit bus maintenance shop.
• Experience managing/directing 10 or more employees.
• Experience working with 50+ buses within the last year.
• Ability to manage and interface with clients.
• Technical competence with light/medium/heavy duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
• Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Outlook.
• Must have a valid CDL class B with passenger and airbrake endorsement.

Nice-to-haves

• ASE or manufacturer's certifications.
• Technical experience with fixed route transit bus maintenance.
• Experience with Diesel, CNG, and alternative fuels.
