About the position

MTM Transit is seeking A and B level Fleet Maintenance Technicians/Mechanics to maintain a fleet of 112 vehicles in Gilbert, AZ. The role involves servicing, diagnosing, repairing, and performing general maintenance on MTM Transit service vehicles, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintenance, service, diagnosing, and repair of MTM Transit service vehicles.
  • Perform repairs on automotive/light duty vehicles, powertrains, undercarriage/chassis, electronic and electrical equipment, air conditioning and heating systems, wheelchair lifts, and vehicle accessories.
  • Record vehicle repair activity into the electronic fleet maintenance management system.
  • Perform preventive maintenance as required.
  • Collaborate with the local Fleet Maintenance Manager and General Manager.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1+ years of auto/truck experience or automotive courses from an automotive institute for entry C level position.
  • Multi-year experience and certifications are a plus for A and B level positions.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • AC609 Certification or ability to obtain it is necessary.
  • Possess proper hand tools or willingness to obtain them.
  • Willingness to train and take ASE A series tests as needed.
  • Must pass a DOT Physical as required.
  • Ability to pass an annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background screen.
  • Experience using hand and power tools, machinery, and sophisticated test and diagnostic equipment related to automotive repair.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications in automotive repair are preferred.
  • Experience with fleet maintenance is a plus.
