About the position

Superior Towing, Inc. is a 24/7 operation providing towing services to a wide variety of clientele. We are a customer service-based organization that currently provides approximately 60,000 services annually in Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana. We are in the midst of another large growth spurt and have plans to continue our expansion and diversification efforts. The Fleet Manager position will report to our Operations Manager and will be responsible for managing the drivers and helping to maintain the fleet. This role is crucial in assisting with the day-to-day operations of a 24-hour business that includes Private Property Relocation, Heavy Duty Towing, and Transport. The Fleet Manager must be able to work some nights and weekends, reflecting the operational needs of our business. While towing experience is preferred, it is not a strict requirement. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational and time management skills, with a keen attention to detail. They should demonstrate the ability to lead by example, motivating, developing, and directing team members effectively. The Fleet Manager will be responsible for assessing the performance of themselves and their employees to identify areas for improvement or necessary corrective actions. Strong decision-making skills are essential, along with excellent oral and written comprehension and communication skills, to ensure smooth operations and effective team management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the drivers and assist in maintaining the fleet.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of a 24-hour towing business.
  • Ensure high levels of customer service are maintained during operations.
  • Assess performance of self and employees to make improvements or take corrective action.
  • Lead by example, motivating and developing team members.

Requirements

  • Valid Non-CDL Class C license (preferred).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves
