About the position

The Sr. Fleet Mobile Technician at Cox Automotive is responsible for providing mobile fleet maintenance services, ensuring the operational efficiency of various vehicle types. This role involves diagnosing and repairing vehicle systems, performing preventive maintenance, and managing parts inventory while adhering to safety standards. The technician will interact with customers, demonstrating exceptional interpersonal skills and integrity, while working independently in a mobile environment.

Responsibilities

  • Follow and comply with safe operating practices and procedures.
  • Manage parts inventory and equipment on the company-issued service truck.
  • Conduct safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections of the service vehicle.
  • Diagnose, adjust, and repair various types of vehicle equipment including electrical, brake, and cooling systems.
  • Perform maintenance and repair of different classes of vehicles, including complex hydraulic and diesel systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections of vehicles for mechanical deficiencies.
  • Perform light and major repairs, including advanced vehicle diagnostics.
  • Interact with customers and provide exceptional service while maintaining integrity and trust.
  • Document work performed and maintain compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Obtain parts from approved vendors as necessary for repairs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED with 5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Valid Driver's License with a safe driving record.
  • EPA 609 Certification and ASE Master Automotive Technician Certification or ability to obtain within 18 months of hire.
  • Knowledge of motor vehicle engines, parts, and systems for repairs and maintenance.
  • Ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods of time.

Nice-to-haves

  • OEM training and certifications are preferred.
  • Additional ASE certifications (A1 through A8 or T1 through T8).
  • Diesel experience.
