About the position

The FlexNet Production & Material Logistics Manager is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the production and logistics of FlexNet products, specifically collapsible pipes. This position entails planning, directing, and coordinating work activities and resources to ensure safe manufacturing and storage of these products, adhering to cost, quality, and quantity specifications. The role encompasses managing a connector weld line and a pipe fabric weld line, ensuring that all production processes are efficient and meet the company's standards. In addition to production oversight, the manager will handle material logistics, which includes the storage and management of raw materials for extrusion and FlexNet products. This involves receiving and issuing materials while maintaining accurate inventory levels. The manager will also oversee the internal recycling processes, which include a washing line and two pelletizers that convert internal scrap into usable pallets. The position requires a strong focus on key performance indicators (KPIs) within the FlexNet and Material Logistics departments, ensuring that all activities align with the company's operational goals. The manager will lead shift teams, set goals, and collaborate with supervisors to streamline work processes. Responsibilities also include recruiting and mentoring team members, managing ongoing operations, and providing technical support for equipment such as pelletizers and wash lines. Continuous improvement is a key aspect of this role, as the manager will analyze performance metrics and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity. The position also involves managing departmental budgets, controlling spending, and fostering a culture of safety and employee engagement within the production environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate work activities for the manufacturing and storage of FlexNet products.
• Manage incoming raw materials for production, including external and internal resin, drippers, and packaging.
• Oversee physical inventory management and address variances using Lean methodologies.
• Lead shift teams, set goals, and collaborate with supervisors to improve work processes.
• Recruit and mentor department employees, ensuring effective team dynamics.
• Ensure ongoing operations of the Material Logistics and FlexNet departments, providing technical support for equipment.
• Analyze performance and promote continuous improvements in line with departmental goals.
• Implement processes and upgrades, managing internal and external interfaces with other departments.
• Lead LEAN processes within assigned departments to achieve business objectives and production schedules.
• Prepare and manage the annual budget, controlling spending in relation to production volume changes.
• Encourage employee involvement in problem-solving and cost reduction initiatives.
• Improve safety records by addressing physical safety issues and promoting safe employee behaviors.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business or a technical field.
• Six plus years of management experience in a progressive production environment.
• Strong leadership skills and independent thinking capabilities.
• Excellent organizational, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong managerial and communication skills, both verbal and written in English.
• Self-motivated, result-oriented, and hands-on individual with a strategic vision.
