About the position

The FLEX Project Purchasing Agent at Marriott International is responsible for managing the procurement process for specific projects with minimal oversight. This role involves key purchasing responsibilities, including communication, contract execution, and project completion, while ensuring adherence to budget and schedule. The agent will work independently as part of a Purchasing Team, supporting the Purchasing Manager and contributing to the overall success of procurement operations.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage the material and service procurement process for assigned projects.
• Support the Purchasing Manager/Team in achieving Procurement Team Sales/Project volume goals.
• Own customer relationships with owners and owner representatives for assigned projects.
• Create project quotations and execute sales contracts.
• Identify and mitigate potential financial risks in procurement processes.
• Work with vendors and contractors to ensure project schedules and budgets are met.
• Review product specifications to ensure they meet brand standards.
• Function as the primary contact for complex vendor/owner issues and disputes, escalating major issues as necessary.
• Complete project closeout in a timely and accurate manner.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
• 2+ years of relevant professional experience in procurement or hospitality design industry.
• Knowledge of Purchasing systems (Peoplesoft/Remaps).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Strong technical product knowledge in Furniture, fixtures & equipment for Hospitality/Commercial products.
• Demonstrated ability in negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational and customer service skills.
