About the position

The FLEX Videographer for the Salesperson Video Program (SPV) at Nordstrom is responsible for creating high-quality and professional videos that feature Salespeople and Stylists for Nordstrom.com. This role is pivotal in enhancing the online customer experience by connecting customers with Nordstrom's people, stores, and deep fashion expertise. The videographer will set up the video set daily, ensuring that all equipment, including cameras, audio, lighting, and fixtures, is arranged according to program guidelines for optimal framing. Attention to detail is crucial, as the videographer must ensure proper lighting and focus for both videos and b-roll footage. Collaboration is key in this position, as the videographer will partner with an on-set Associate Producer to provide feedback and guidance to talent on content creation. Coaching talent on set is essential to produce engaging and valuable content that resonates with the audience. The videographer will also manage audio and audit content during filming, ensuring that all aspects of the production meet the high standards expected by Nordstrom. After each shift, the videographer is responsible for backing up all footage and uploading it for post-production. Additionally, they may assist in the preparation and shipping of products as needed. Maintaining audio and video supplies and equipment is also part of the role, with the responsibility to communicate any needed repairs or replacements to the regional Producer in a timely manner. This position offers a flexible schedule and is on-call as needed, with hours and scheduling depending on the volume of work.

Responsibilities

  • Set up video set daily including camera, audio, lighting and fixtures in line with the program guidelines for framing
  • Ensure proper lighting and focus for videos and b-roll
  • Partner with on-set Associate Producer to provide feedback and guidance to talent on content
  • Coach talent on set to create engaging and valued content
  • Manage audio and audit content while filming
  • Backup all footage after each shift and upload footage for post-production
  • Assist in prep and shipping of product as needed
  • Maintain audio and video supplies and equipment, and communicate needed repairs or replacements to regional Producer in a timely manner

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Associates degree with a focus in Audio and Video Production preferred
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, SharePoint, MS Office Suite
  • 5 years Audio and Video Production experience
  • 3 years of experience working in the fashion industry
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds (video equipment, props)
  • Ability to think on your feet and make quick decisions
  • Clear and effective verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
