About the position
The Flexo Press Operator is responsible for operating a manually controlled Flexographic press to print lettering and images on various stocks. This role involves setting up the press, mounting plates, and ensuring quality control during the printing process.
Responsibilities
- Mounts plates on printing cylinders using foam cushion double-sided sticky tape.
- Requests the required amount of material from the warehouse to produce the job.
- Uses work order and job history to determine the best setup for the press.
- Installs die in the press, sets cylinders, splices material, and adjusts the web guide.
- Sets impression and one-to-one register for accurate printing.
- Aligns die with print, applies pressure to die for cutting, and trims liner edges.
- Inspects labels during the press run for defects and flags any issues.
- Cleans ink, plates, and press using solvent and proper personal protective equipment.
Requirements
- Experience operating a Flexographic press or similar printing equipment.
- Knowledge of printing processes and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders and job histories.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with quality control processes in printing.
- Experience with maintenance of printing equipment.
