About the position

American Airlines is seeking dedicated and customer-focused individuals to join their team as Flight Attendants. This role involves providing exceptional in-flight service, ensuring passenger safety and comfort, and representing the American Airlines brand with pride. Flight attendants will have the opportunity to travel extensively and work in a dynamic environment, adapting to various situations while maintaining high service standards.

Responsibilities

  • Set a high standard of consistent in-flight service that includes serving hot and cold meals/beverages and selling onboard products
  • Handle a wide variety of situations while in continuous contact with the public, both on and off the aircraft
  • Work independently while still being part of a collaborative team and without supervision
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of our customers
  • Provide leadership by responding to a variety of emergency and non-emergency situations
  • Work in climates and locations across the globe and work variable shifts
  • Meet our high standards of dependability to ensure our flights are on time
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and attendance/performance standards
  • Adhere to alternative work schedules, including evenings and weekends
  • Demonstrate the ability to adapt to the flight attendant lifestyle

Requirements

  • Must be at least 20 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Height and weight must allow for the safe operation of the aircraft and may not exceed specific aircraft dimensions
  • Must pass a DOT pre-employment drug test
  • Must pass a TSA required fingerprint-based criminal history records check and background check
  • Must be in possession of a valid U.S. or Foreign Passport with applicable VISAs
  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States and ability to travel unrestricted to/from all states and countries served by American Airlines
  • Willing to relocate based on the company's operational needs if applicable
  • Able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours if needed
  • Able to be on call and available to report for duty in your assigned base
  • Must be able to professionally represent the American Airlines brand while in the Flight Attendant uniform; no visible tattoos, no more than one (1) earring per ear
  • Ability to attend up to 6 1/2 weeks of unpaid training in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, and, if employed, move immediately to the city to which you are assigned as a base

  • Ability to work with individuals and teams at all levels in the organization
