About the position

As a Flight Attendant at Delta Air Lines, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers while providing exceptional customer service. This position requires flexibility in working hours, as flights operate day and night, including weekends and holidays. You will be part of a team recognized for creating a positive work environment and delivering an elevated travel experience to customers. The role involves managing unexpected changes, administering emergency procedures, and actively engaging with passengers to enhance their travel experience.

Responsibilities

  • Practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Work both independently and as part of a team to accomplish work tasks
  • Manage unexpected changes in a time-sensitive and stressful environment
  • Answer questions and assist customers when necessary, particularly those with unique needs and circumstances
  • Demonstrate the use of safety and emergency equipment and ensure safety requirements are met
  • Administer and coordinate emergency procedures or provide emergency care when needed
  • Respond to and provide clear and accurate directions to customers in the event of an emergency
  • Make decisions that address issues keeping in line with Delta policies, procedures, and core values
  • Prepare, serve, and sell beverages and meals
  • Assist customers in lifting and stowing luggage into overhead bins
  • Actively seek to ensure the safety and comfort of customers during delays or turbulence
  • Regularly make public address and safety announcements in compliance with company and federal standards
  • Perform duties in changing environments, including the physiological effects at altitude

Requirements

  • Eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Be at least 21 years of age at time of application
  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently
  • Ability to acquire and keep current a passport and travel documents
  • Complete a pre-employment Department of Transportation (DOT) drug test and comprehensive background check
  • Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened
  • Ability to open emergency exits and close aircraft doors weighing up to 60 pounds
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours when needed
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding role which requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching, and lifting

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 or more years of experience in jobs with responsibilities similar to those of a flight attendant
  • Completion of a degree beyond high school or GED preferred
