About the position

The Flight Attendant position at Mesa Airlines is crucial for ensuring a safe and enjoyable travel experience for passengers. Flight Attendants are responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining safety protocols, and assisting passengers throughout their journey. This role requires a positive attitude, reliability, and a thorough understanding of safety procedures and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide constant attention to customers, ensuring a safe and reliable onboard experience.
  • Greet passengers, monitor carry-on baggage, and direct passengers to assigned seats.
  • Remain positive, respectful, and understanding during challenging situations and passenger conflicts.
  • Maintain physical health and professional appearance standards.
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of all emergency procedures and operate emergency equipment onboard the aircraft.
  • Explain the use of safety equipment to passengers clearly and concisely.
  • Serve beverages, snacks, and meals where applicable.
  • Assist passengers in storing carry-on luggage in overhead or under-seat storage.
  • Inform passengers of Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Assist with inflight medical emergencies and special needs passengers, including unaccompanied minors and those with disabilities.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college credits or a minimum of two years of customer service experience preferred.
  • Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and dependability.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Willingness to be assigned to any of Mesa Airlines crew bases after training.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
  • Height between 4'11" and 6' without shoes, able to reach overhead bins and galley compartments.
  • Ability to perform all safety-related procedures, including operating aircraft doors and lifting emergency window exits (approx. 40 lbs.).
  • Present a clean, neat, and professional appearance at all times.
  • Ability to sit in the flight attendant jumpseat without modification and walk comfortably down the aisle.
  • Minimum 20/40 vision, corrected or uncorrected.
  • Authorized to work in the United States and possess a valid passport.
  • Legal ability to travel unrestricted to/from all countries served by Mesa Airlines, including Canada, Mexico, Bahamas, and Cuba.
  • Authorization to make multiple entries into the United States at will.
  • Successfully complete a background investigation, including FBI fingerprinting and criminal history.
  • Pass a DOT/FAA pre-employment drug, alcohol, and random screening.
