About the position

As the HR Generalist at Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG), you will play a pivotal role in supporting operational Human Resources activities. This position serves as the first point of contact for employees and business leaders regarding general HR inquiries and projects. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of HR functions, including addressing employee requests and inquiries, assisting with policy enforcement, managing moving and international work requests, processing leave requests, and contributing to various HR projects. You will act as a valuable resource and advocate for both the HR team and the business, helping to monitor the impact of business decisions on personnel and translating business needs into actionable HR strategies. In this role, you will primarily engage with employees to resolve any questions or concerns they may have regarding their employment. Key responsibilities include managing leave administration related to family medical leave, sabbaticals, unpaid leave, and other types of leave offered by the company. You will also be responsible for maintaining electronic employee files, assisting with exit interviews, and managing the termination process. Additionally, you will support new employee onboarding and facilitate various training programs offered by the company. Promoting HR initiatives to foster an efficient and informed workplace will be a critical aspect of your role, as will ensuring compliance with state and federal employment laws. You will also support the HR and People and Culture team in delivering key initiatives and assist the legal team with immigration needs, along with undertaking ad hoc projects as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees and business leaders on HR inquiries and projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of HR Generalist experience.
  • Minimum 1 year in an HR Administrator role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with HR software and MS Office, including Teams.
  • Basic knowledge of compliance standards and employment law.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong analytical skills and outstanding listening skills.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively across various levels.

Nice-to-haves
