As a full-time employee of Contour Airlines, you will be responsible for supporting the flight crew members with operational control of flights and jointly responsible for the preflight planning and delay of flights in compliance with Federal Regulations and Contour Operations Specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Support the flight crew members with operational control of flights.
  • Jointly responsible for the preflight planning and delay of flights in compliance with Federal Regulations and Contour Operations Specifications.
  • Work closely with other divisions within System Operations Control to ensure that flight crewmembers maintain the Company's mission of safety above all.
  • Plan flights considering the effects of enroute winds and weather, balancing safety and economy.
  • Determine the minimum fuel supply necessary for the safe completion of the flight including any required alternate airports.
  • Provide pilot-in-command with preflight briefing including aircraft and flight status.
  • Monitor the progress of each flight.
  • Issue necessary information for the safety of the flight.
  • Cancel a flight if it cannot operate or continue to operate safely as planned.
  • Reroute or redirect a flight based on economic considerations.
  • Recommend flight plan alternatives.
  • Coordinate aircraft diversions and recoveries.
  • Negotiate with air traffic control for alternative routes and reductions in air traffic control delays.
  • Provide operations expertise to the Maintenance Department and System Operations Control.
  • Monitor and process data provided by flight crewmembers and stations.
  • Perform any other duty as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be authorized to work in the United States and able to travel in and out of the United States.
  • Possess a valid state driver's license and must have a good driving record.
  • Possess high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must understand, read, and write English.
  • FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate required.
  • A minimum of two (2) years' dispatch experience is preferred.
  • Extensive familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulations, aeronautical charts, aviation weather, aircraft performance, and flight planning.
  • Able to pass a required 10-year work history review and submit to criminal background and fingerprint checks.
  • Must pass a DOT required pre-employment drug screen and willing to submit to and pass FAA and Company mandated random drug and alcohol tests.
  • Possess strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Must have well-developed people skills and the ability to work with a variety of personalities.
  • Able to coordinate multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Able to handle interruptions and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail.
  • Be self-motivated and able to motivate others.
  • Excellent communication skills: both written and verbal delivered with tact and professionalism.
  • Work independently or as part of a team.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft products such as Office 365, Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • FOS Scheduling system knowledge preferred.
  • Able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules.
  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, state, and federal regulations.
