About the position

The Flight Instruction Associate (CFI Associate) at L3Harris is responsible for providing comprehensive flight instruction on aircraft systems, training maneuvers, and procedures. This role involves both ground and in-flight training, ensuring students achieve a thorough understanding of the training materials while maintaining high standards of flight training quality. The position requires collaboration with students to meet training goals and adherence to FAA and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction on aircraft systems, training maneuvers, procedures, and other flight-related subjects both on the ground and in the aircraft during a flight.
  • Conduct preflight/post flight debriefings and provide in-flight instruction to ensure students have a thorough understanding and comprehension of the training materials.
  • Maintain the quality (pass rate) of flight training at or above 80%.
  • Ensure all Academy goals are met, including pass rate, timely student completion, student flight hour limitations, and timely completion of student's training records.
  • Make recommendations to the Group Manager for corrective action when issues arise.
  • Regularly schedule each assigned student to ensure progress through the course.
  • Maintain flight training standards as outlined by both FAA and L3Harris Flight Academy.
  • Maintain policies and procedures of the Operations Manual.
  • Track and update assigned student's training record and folder in accordance with L3Harris Flight Academy and FAA policy.
  • Provide customer service-oriented and professional instruction according to L3Harris Flight Academy policy.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI).
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft systems and flight training procedures.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of training quality and student performance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
