About the position
The Flight Operations Coordinator/Dispatcher at Ventura Aviation plays a crucial role in supporting flight crews and ensuring the smooth operation of flight logistics. This position involves trip planning, crew scheduling, and compliance with aviation regulations, particularly in a Part 135 environment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and customer service-focused, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while providing logistical support to flight crews. The role requires availability for nights and weekends, and candidates must be based in the Nashville area.
Responsibilities
- Assist with trip planning and international paperwork.
- Coordinate crew scheduling and logistics.
- Review trips for 135 legality and compliance with regulations.
- Perform flight locating procedures and monitor flight operations for weather and delays.
- Assist the Pilot in Command (PIC) in releasing and operating flights safely.
- Update trip sheets as changes occur during the trip.
- Obtain necessary landing permits and international flight clearances.
- Track landing fees and ensure billing accuracy.
- Coordinate crew travel arrangements for each trip assigned.
- Manage and utilize crews during assigned shifts, ensuring compliance with rest and duty limitations.
Requirements
- Valid Aircraft Dispatcher license (preferred but not required).
- Experience in flight operations, particularly in Part 135 aviation.
- Strong attention to detail and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
