The Flight Operations Transport Specialist position at Global Medical Response is a critical role that involves transporting flight crews and delivering exceptional customer service to patients. The role requires working during the night shift from 1800 to 0600, which necessitates a high level of responsibility and attention to detail, especially when navigating to various medical facilities and patient homes in the Wichita, KS area. As a Flight Operations Transport Specialist, you will be responsible for driving flight crews from local airports to hospitals and other medical facilities. This involves utilizing maps and GPS systems to locate destinations accurately. Effective communication is also a key component of this role, as you will need to use standard radio codes to interact with the communications center. Additionally, you will be tasked with maintaining the company vehicle, ensuring it is presentable and in good working order by completing a mechanical checklist at the start of each shift and reporting any issues to the fleet department. The position also requires adherence to HIPAA regulations and compliance with all company policies and procedures. Successful candidates will undergo company driver’s training and CPR First Aid training to ensure they are well-prepared for the responsibilities of the role. Overall, this position is vital for the smooth operation of medical transport services and requires a dedicated individual who is committed to providing high-quality service to patients and medical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Transport/drive flight crews from local airports in Wichita, KS to hospitals in the surrounding area.
  • Utilize maps to locate hospitals, medical facilities, and patient home addresses.
  • Ability to use standard radio codes to communicate with the communications center.
  • Complete daily trip sheet recording transport activity.
  • Ensure company vehicle is maintained and presentable.
  • Responsible for completing mechanical checklist for vehicle at the start of each shift.
  • Communicate mechanical problems to fleet department if/when vehicle is not in working order.
  • Successful completion of company driver's training.
  • Successful completion of CPR First Aid training.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations, all company policies, procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Know and follow information systems security policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as defined by the formal job description.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to navigate using maps and GPS systems.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to use standard radio codes.
  • Attention to detail in maintaining vehicle and completing checklists.
  • Ability to adhere to HIPAA regulations and company policies.
