About the position

The Flight Ops Regulatory Compliance Manager at Mesa Airlines is a pivotal role responsible for managing the Flight Operations manuals to ensure compliance with company policies, manufacturer's documentation, and regulatory requirements. This position requires a thorough understanding of the Safety Management System (SMS) procedures, as the manager will be tasked with issuing revisions to manuals as necessary. The role involves writing language for crew memos and preparing for and attending various scheduled meetings as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Flight Operations. The candidate will engage in meetings with multiple stakeholders, including various departments, top-level management, and FAA personnel. These meetings are crucial for developing and revising operational procedures, providing guidance, and delivering updates on compliance matters. The meetings include Flight Ops Safety Meetings, SMS Meetings, ASAP Meetings, FOQA Meetings, Regulatory Compliance Meetings, FAA Operations Call Meetings, and meetings with the Chief Pilot, VP of Flight Ops, and Senior Leadership. Additionally, the Flight Ops Regulatory Compliance Manager will be responsible for creating Safety Risk Assessments (SRAs) within the WBAT system in response to identified safety issues or when new procedures are implemented. This role is essential in maintaining the safety and regulatory compliance of flight operations at Mesa Airlines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Flight Operations manuals in accordance with company policy, manufacturer's documentation, and regulations.
  • Issue revisions to manuals using Safety Management System procedures as needed.
  • Write language for crew memos as required.
  • Prepare for and attend scheduled meetings as Flight Ops Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Attend meetings with various departments, top-level management, and FAA personnel to develop and revise procedures.
  • Provide guidance and updates during meetings.
  • Create Safety Risk Assessments (SRAs) within the WBAT system in response to identified safety issues or new procedures.

Requirements

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Familiar with Safety Management System (SMS), preferably with Mesa's SMS.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with personnel across various departments and at all levels of the company.
  • Familiarity with writing and revising manuals is preferred.
