About the position
The Flight Paramedic at Vanderbilt University Medical Center provides advanced pre-hospital and inter-facility patient care, ensuring thorough documentation and adherence to protocols. Responsibilities
- Plans and manages care according to LifeFlight and VUMC standards.
- Maintains clinical proficiency and competency per regulatory and accreditation compliance.
- Participates in self and program improvement activities and problem-solving projects.
- Reviews current research and applies findings for evidence-based practice.
- Documents care accurately to meet LifeFlight documentation standards.
- Facilitates quality patient care through collaborative communication.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of recent experience as a paramedic.
- Current Certified Flight Paramedic (FP-C).
- Ability to obtain a paramedic license with Critical Care Endorsement valid in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Alabama.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) certification with advanced skills lab and lecture components.
- Current United States Passport.
