About the position

The Flight Test Instrumentation Operations Engineer at Lockheed Martin will support developmental and operational test programs at Eglin AFB, Florida. This role involves collaborating with USAF, contractor, and civil service engineers to develop solutions for complex problems related to technical planning, system integration, and data collection systems for flight test aircraft. The engineer will be responsible for preflight and postflight activities, real-time support, data analysis, and troubleshooting instrumentation and telemetry systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support developmental and operational test programs at Eglin AFB, FL.
  • Collaborate with an integrated test team including USAF, contractor, and civil service engineers.
  • Develop solutions to complex problems in technical planning and system integration.
  • Perform preflight and postflight activities for aircraft instrumentation systems.
  • Attend pre and post mission briefings.
  • Provide real-time instrumentation system support and data analysis.
  • Support mission control room and telemetry operations.
  • Participate in the T2 Mod process for instrumentation and data collection systems.
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation, data collection, and telemetry systems using technical data and electrical drawings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Aeronautics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • 5-10 years of professional experience in a related field.
  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain a government security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with analog and digital circuit design and analysis.
  • Knowledge of signal conditioning, transducers, and data acquisition.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings.
  • Familiarity with design tools such as CATIA, CCD, AutoCAD.
  • Experience in electronics troubleshooting techniques and tools.
  • Knowledge of microprocessor firmware design and embedded systems.
  • Understanding of aircraft instrumentation concepts and protocols.
  • Familiarity with GPS and IRIG time standards.
  • Proficient communication skills.
