About the position

The Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer position at Lockheed Martin involves supporting developmental and operational test programs at Eglin AFB, FL. The role requires extensive technical expertise to develop solutions for complex problems related to technical planning, system integration, instrumentation, and data collection systems for unique flight test aircraft. The engineer will perform preflight and postflight checks, provide real-time support, and participate in mission control and telemetry support, while collaborating with various teams and external personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Support developmental and operational test programs at Eglin AFB, FL.
  • Develop solutions to complex problems in technical planning and system integration.
  • Perform preflight and postflight checks of aircraft instrumentation systems.
  • Attend pre and post mission briefings.
  • Provide real-time instrumentation system support and data analysis.
  • Support troubleshooting of instrumentation, data collection, and telemetry systems.
  • Participate in the T2 Mod process for instrumentation and data collection systems.
  • Interact with senior external personnel on significant technical matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Aeronautics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a government security clearance.
  • 5 - 10 years of professional experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Analog and digital circuit design and analysis.
  • Signal conditioning, transducers, and data acquisition.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings.
  • Experience with CATIA, CCD, AutoCAD or similar design tools.
  • Knowledge of electronics and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Microprocessor firmware design and embedded system design.
  • Understanding of aircraft instrumentation concepts and protocols.
  • Familiarity with GPS and IRIG time standards.
  • Proficient communication skills.
