About the position

West Coast Self-Storage is seeking a full-time Customer Service Associate/Assistant Property Manager for our locations in Kent, WA. This role is ideal for individuals with exceptional customer service skills and a background in retail sales. The position involves a variety of responsibilities, including showing available storage units, guiding customers through the leasing process, and providing outstanding customer service. You will be expected to assess customer storage needs through in-person interactions, phone calls, and web inquiries. Additionally, you will manage and balance cash drawers and petty cash, ensuring accurate financial transactions. General office tasks such as filing, managing customer accounts, and sorting mail will also be part of your daily duties. In this role, you will be working independently while also contributing to team objectives. The ability to self-manage and work effectively without constant supervision is crucial. You will be required to maintain the property to West Coast's Clean & Operational standards, which includes cleaning vacated units, sweeping, mopping, and changing light bulbs. This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $18.50, along with monthly and quarterly bonus potential. Responsibilities

  • Show available units and guide customers through the leasing process
  • Meet retail sales and occupancy objectives
  • Provide exceptional customer service including assessing customers' storage needs (in person, phone, and web inquiries)
  • Manage, audit, and balance cash drawer and petty cash
  • Perform general office tasks, e.g., filing, managing customer accounts, sorting mail/deliveries
  • Maintain property to West Coast's Clean & Operational standards, e.g., cleaning vacated units, sweeping, mopping, changing light bulbs

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (required)
  • Retail Sales, Cash Management, and Customer Service experience (required)
  • Ability to self-manage while working independently to complete team and company objectives
  • Ability to work weekends and some holidays (required)
  • Basic computer skills and working knowledge of MS Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
