About the position

The Float Medical Assistant at AdventHealth Medical Group plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality medical care to patients across various clinics in Johnson, Miami, and Douglas counties. This position is designed for individuals who are adaptable and can work in different locations as needed. The Medical Assistant will assist healthcare providers in the delivery of care, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive support that addresses their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. The role emphasizes the importance of customer service, requiring the Medical Assistant to maintain high standards in all patient interactions. In this position, the Medical Assistant is accountable for performing a variety of tasks under the direction of the clinic physician and the general oversight of the Manager. Responsibilities include timely and accurate documentation of patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, adherence to established protocols for patient medications and testing, and effective communication with patients regarding their care plans. The Medical Assistant will also be responsible for administering immunizations and ensuring that all documentation meets the required standards. The Float Medical Assistant will work a full-time schedule from Monday to Friday, totaling 40 hours per week. Responsibilities

  • Assist the provider in the delivery of medical care to clinic patients.
  • Maintain high customer service skills with all patient interactions.
  • Document patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system according to established protocols.
  • Complete medical documentation accurately and thoroughly upon patient intake.
  • Administer immunizations as required.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures for patient medications and testing.
  • Communicate electronically with patients as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Current Medical Assistant Certification is required.
  • BLS obtained through the American Heart Association.
