About the position

The Float Personal Banker at Security Bank of Kansas City is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to both current and potential customers. This role requires strong sales aptitude, leadership skills, and a comprehensive understanding of traditional banking products and services. The banker will engage with customers through various channels, ensuring a consistent and professional experience while fostering long-term relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent customer service to current and potential customers.
  • Support and service new and existing customers through in-person interactions, phone calls, and emails.
  • Understand and apply operational policies and procedures as customer behaviors change.
  • Identify customers accurately using established guidelines and procedures.
  • Provide accurate account information while adhering to account security procedures.
  • Recognize account flags and inconsistencies regarding checks and account activity.
  • Greet customers enthusiastically and provide quality service to exceed expectations.
  • Utilize system software to support customer interactions and transactions.
  • Promote honest and open communication throughout the organization.
  • Work with other departments to ensure optimal service delivery to customers.
  • Proactively seek financial solutions for customers to enhance relationships.
  • Educate customers on emerging bank technology and services.
  • Process a variety of banking transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist with customer inquiries and provide account statements and other services.
  • Identify customer needs through questioning to sell products or make referrals.
  • Expand customer relationships to meet individual and team goals.
  • Ensure compliance with disclosures, audit standards, and security policies.
  • Participate in community events to promote bank products and services.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years of banking, retail, or sales experience preferred.
  • Proven sales and leadership skills with a background in customer interaction.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office and other office technology tools.
  • General knowledge of traditional bank products and services, including online/mobile banking.
  • Recent customer service experience, preferably in a banking environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, achieve goals, stay organized, and work with limited supervision.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with outside networking and community involvement.
  • Knowledge of consumer lending processes and cross-sell opportunities.
