About the position

As a Float Pharmacist at Genoa Healthcare, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of pharmacy care services, particularly within the behavioral health and addiction treatment communities. Your primary responsibility will be to process prescriptions and ensure that patients receive the medications they need to manage their health conditions effectively. This position is classified as a per diem role, meaning you will work on an intermittent basis, providing flexibility in your schedule while still being an integral part of the healthcare team. You will be expected to work at various locations, including Knoxville, Maryville, Oakridge, Athens, and Morristown, TN, during the standard operating hours of Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. In this role, you will collaborate with a coordinated care team, partnering with community-based providers to ensure that individuals with complex health conditions receive the right medications and adhere to their treatment plans. Your work will not only involve dispensing medications but also providing valuable information to customers about their medications and usage, thereby enhancing their understanding and compliance. You will be responsible for maintaining compliance with all relevant laws and regulations set forth by the State Board of Pharmacy, and you may also administer immunizations as permitted by state law. Responsibilities

  • Distributes drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners
  • Provides information to customers about medications and their use
  • Focuses on providing a superior level of customer service
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant laws of the applicable State Board of Pharmacy
  • Administers immunizations as allowed by State Boards of Pharmacy
  • Performs any other usual and customary pharmacy duties

Requirements

  • BS Pharmacy or Pharm D
  • Current pharmacist's license in the state of TN
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Reliable Transportation
  • Willing to travel locally up to 50%
