About the position
The Float Pharmacy Technician at Genoa Healthcare plays a crucial role in supporting the pharmacy operations within the mental health and addiction treatment communities. This position involves dispensing medical prescriptions, performing clerical duties, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. The technician will also provide exceptional customer service and assist in maintaining inventory and pharmacy supplies.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to all consumers and members of the clinic staff
- Fill prescription orders and make them available for verification under direct supervision of the registered pharmacist
- Order, receive, and store incoming pharmacy supplies
- Receive and process wholesaler medication orders
- Verify medication stock and enter data in computer to maintain inventory records
- Work with the Pharmacist to assist in pharmacy functions and compliance with federal and state requirements
- Perform various clerical duties relating to the department
- Communicate with strong professional verbal and written communication skills
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Active and Unrestricted Pharmacy Technician License in the state of New York
- Access to reliable transportation and valid US driver's license
- Ability to use own vehicle to travel to sites when needed
- Ability to work in the following cities as business needs arise: Massapequa, Bay Shore, Roosevelt and Freeport
Nice-to-haves
