About the position

The Float Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations at multiple Health Scholar sites, acting as a crucial link between program participants, the internal team, and clients. This role involves ensuring smooth program operations, enhancing student recruitment, and fostering strong relationships with hospital executives. The position is ideal for individuals interested in healthcare delivery, student mentorship, and program administration.

Responsibilities

  • Actively recruit and maintain a strong pipeline of diverse Health Scholar candidates by attending recruitment events and cultivating relationships with campus career centers and student organizations.
  • Provide direct supervision to program participants, offering mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
  • Manage and improve on-site program operations, including training for scholars, departmental operations, and recruitment activities.
  • Build and manage relationships with key hospital client executives to ensure program success and growth.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses on program metrics to report service line impact and identify opportunities for client value demonstration.
  • Plan for future client growth by identifying opportunities for additional participant rotations with client executives.
  • Engage with team members to pursue opportunities to add value to clients through various services offered by the firm.
  • Support business development through market research and contributions to BD collateral.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to program operations and compliance, escalating high-risk issues to management.
  • Display professionalism and strong conflict-resolution skills, modeling these behaviors for program participants.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations and client-specific policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 1-2+ years of work experience strongly preferred.
  • Passion for student teaching, mentoring, and development.
  • Strong project and people management skills, with experience managing large groups preferred.
  • Recruitment experience preferred; comfortable recruiting and networking is required.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Experience and interest in healthcare is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently at the client site as the sole Program Manager.
  • Availability for regional trainings during evenings and weekends (1-2 weekends per month).
  • Ability to travel to the corporate office in downtown Los Angeles occasionally.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio).
