About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher to join our educational team at A Place To Grow Learning Center. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for children. This role involves supporting lead teachers in implementing curriculum, engaging with students, and promoting their overall development, particularly for children with autism or in a Montessori setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing daily lesson plans that align with curriculum goals.
• Support classroom management to create a positive learning environment for all students.
• Engage with children during activities to promote literacy education and childhood development.
• Provide individualized support to students, especially those requiring additional assistance.
• Facilitate toddler care routines, ensuring a safe and nurturing atmosphere.
• Collaborate with teachers to develop and adapt curriculum materials as needed.
• Observe and assess student progress, providing feedback to the lead teacher on individual development.
• Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Requirements

• Experience working with children in a classroom setting is essential.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices.
• Familiarity with Montessori methods or similar educational philosophies is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with children on the autism spectrum is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• A genuine passion for educating young learners and supporting their growth.
• Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the needs of students.
