About the position

The Floater Customer Service Representative (CSR)/Teller Support Specialist at Community Financial System, Inc. (CFSI) is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service across various branch locations. This role involves assisting customers with financial transactions, promoting bank products, and ensuring compliance with banking regulations. The position requires adaptability to different work environments and the ability to handle customer service challenges effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality customer service and a positive banking experience by handling financial transactions on the teller line and platform.
• Determine customer needs, explain and sell products and services.
• Telephone customers to schedule sales appointments and promote products.
• Participate in branch prospecting efforts.
• Assist customers with requests such as stop payments, wire transfers, balance discrepancies, and loan information.
• Serve as a liaison between customers and operational areas.
• Conduct customer transactions with accuracy and prepare daily cash balancing within established guidelines.
• Understand directions and adhere to established policies and procedures.
• Maintain proficient knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to this position and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Assist wherever necessary to help the Branches and the Bank achieve their annual goals.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of bank and/or customer service experience normally required.
• Internal product knowledge and teller training.
• Accurate and proficient math skills.
• Documentation skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to think clearly and stay focused.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a retail banking environment.
