The Floater/Teacher Assistant position at First Step Child Care Center is designed for individuals who are passionate about working with young children and supporting educational programs. Floaters play a crucial role in classroom management, providing breaks for teachers, and engaging with children in play and routine activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist teaching staff in implementing the curriculum across all classrooms.
- Manage classroom activities and provide support for group and individual activities.
- Join children in play and help with routines such as mealtimes, diapering, and naptimes.
- Provide breaks for teaching staff as needed.
- Occasionally act as a substitute for Assistant Teachers when they are absent.
Requirements
- At least one year of experience in a licensed child care facility.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Must have an Associates degree or higher in any field, be currently enrolled in college, or be willing to enroll in the CDA credentialing program within 12 months of hire.
- Must receive medical and background clearance to work with children.
