About the position

The Floor Automation Engineer position at Ford involves working within the Manufacturing team to enhance the efficiency of smart vehicle production. This role focuses on automation processes related to paint delivery and operations, requiring in-depth knowledge of various control systems and electrical circuitry. The engineer will contribute to the development of new technologies and processes that support the production of world-class vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement automation solutions for paint delivery and launch operations.
  • Program and troubleshoot GUI/HMI logic and controls using RSLogix, Mitsubishi, Rockwell, and Bradley Panel Views.
  • Utilize and program AB Servo and AB VFD drives for automation processes.
  • Work with VFDs, network/Ethernet controls, and DH systems.
  • Integrate and maintain robotic systems, including Fanuc and ABB robots.
  • Apply knowledge of AC and DC circuitry in automation tasks.
  • Ensure familiarity with paint application and mix room equipment.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of GUI/HMI logic and controls (RSLogix, Mitsubishi, Rockwell, Bradley Panel Views).
  • Experience with programming AB Servo and AB VFD drives.
  • Familiarity with VFDs, network/Ethernet controls, and DH systems.
  • Background in electrical or electrician work, particularly with AC and DC circuitry.
  • Experience with robotic systems, specifically Fanuc and ABB.
