The Floor Technician position at John Knox Village is a full-time role that requires a dedicated individual to perform housekeeping and floor maintenance activities across the campus. The job is structured around a Monday to Friday schedule, from 7:30 AM to 4 PM, and involves using a personal vehicle to travel between various locations on the property. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of previous floor maintenance experience and will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the premises according to established standards. This role is crucial in supporting the Village's mission and values, ensuring that all tasks are completed with a focus on service and hospitality. In this position, the Floor Technician will engage in a variety of essential job functions, including but not limited to buffing, stripping, waxing, wet/dry vacuuming, shampooing, mopping, and sweeping different types of floor surfaces. The technician will also be responsible for vacuuming and shampooing carpets, buffing hard floors, and maintaining common areas. The role requires the use of heavy machinery such as auto scrubbers and carpet extractors, and the technician must be knowledgeable about the maintenance and care of all equipment used in floor care. This includes the ability to disassemble and reassemble equipment for cleaning and maintenance, as well as assessing and reporting any malfunctions. The Floor Technician will also be expected to respond promptly to emergency clean-up requests and maintain records of completed work. Adherence to safety regulations and the ability to handle stress while maintaining a positive workplace conduct are essential. The position may require the technician to assist in other departments during emergencies, showcasing the need for flexibility and teamwork within the organization.
