Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of hallways and common areas by sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces.
• Assist in creating a positive physical and psychosocial environment for residents.
• Follow a regular cleaning schedule for daily, weekly, monthly, seasonal, and annual tasks.
• Clean offices and common areas, including vacuuming, wiping, mopping, and polishing.
• Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing staff in resident areas.
• Dispose of refuse daily according to sanitation procedures.
• Clean up spills and soiled areas as observed or directed.
• Maintain a fully equipped cleaning cart with necessary supplies.
• Assist in transferring residents and their belongings as needed.
• Report any damage to walls, floors, furniture, or equipment to the supervisor.
• Pick up cleaning supplies for the next day's work at the end of the shift.
• Follow special cleaning schedules for windows, walls, curtains, and floors.
• Maintain work areas free of hazardous conditions and follow biohazard procedures.
• Attend in-service education programs to meet facility requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility records.

Requirements

• Willingness to perform a variety of simple repetitive tasks, including those involving unpleasant conditions.
• Practical knowledge of day-to-day cleaning in a nursing facility.
• Organized and detail-oriented in work performance.
• Good communication skills with self-discipline and patience.
• Genuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled individuals.
