About the position
The Floor Technician at Aramark is responsible for maintaining and restoring floors in assigned locations, utilizing industrial floor care equipment. This role emphasizes customer service, adherence to safety and sanitation standards, and the execution of various floor care procedures. The technician will handle both hard and soft floor surfaces, ensuring cleanliness and proper waste management while following company protocols.
Responsibilities
- Maintains a friendly, efficient, and positive customer service attitude toward customers, clients, and co-workers.
- Anticipates and responds to customer needs.
- Uses proper procedures on hard floor care including stripping, refinishing, burnishing, spray cleaning, and spray buffing.
- Uses proper procedures on carpet and upholstery care such as shampooing, damp surface cleaning, extractions, spot cleaning, and vacuuming.
- Operates industrial floor care equipment as assigned for cleaning large areas of floor surfaces.
- Performs maintenance and restorative processes for all floor surface types.
- Processes all municipal solid waste (MSW), infectious, and pharmaceutical waste appropriately.
- Removes trash, recyclables, soiled linen, used supplies, and equipment from assigned work area, disinfecting receptacles and carts as needed.
- Follows all Aramark safety standards, sanitation, and infection control standards and procedures.
- Adheres to all Aramark appearance standards and wears the required uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) while working.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a floor care technician or in a related role is preferred.
- Knowledge of floor care equipment and its use is preferred.
- Ability to read and write for proper communication and perform simple mathematical calculations.
