About the position

The Floor Technician position at SSC Services for Education involves maintaining and restoring floors in educational facilities. This full-time role requires the operation of industrial floor care equipment and adherence to safety procedures. Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of principles of hard-surface floor maintenance and use proper procedures on hard floor care including stripping and refinishing, burnishing, spray cleaning, and spray buffing.
• Operate various types of industrial floor care equipment.
• Utilize automated equipment for cleaning large areas of floor surfaces.
• Follow proper procedures for carpet and upholstery care including shampooing, damp surface cleaning, extractions, spot cleaning, and vacuuming.
• Perform maintenance and restorative processes for all floor surface types.
• Complete other duties as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

• No previous experience is required.
• Proven knowledge of floor care equipment and techniques is required.
• Ability to follow safety procedures is necessary.
• Physical ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience as a floor care technician or in a related role preferred.
