About the position

The Flooring Territory Account Manager is responsible for managing and supporting a designated territory of independent retailers, focusing on driving sales of flooring service contracts. This role involves delivering and supporting sales initiatives, ensuring retail partners have the necessary tools and guidance to meet sales targets. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in sales training, excellent relationship-building skills, and a commitment to outstanding service, with success measured by enhanced sales performance and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with independent retailers in the assigned territory.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for retailers, addressing their needs, concerns, and inquiries promptly and effectively.
  • Conduct regular in-person and virtual meetings with retailers to review performance, discuss opportunities, and provide training in product sales techniques.
  • Create territory account management coverage plan to prioritize in-person visitation to top-tier flooring partners, considering cost-effective travel planning.
  • Drive sales growth within the territory through training and implementing strategic sales plans and initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyze sales data to identify trends, track performance, and adjust strategies as needed to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance, market conditions, and territory activities.
  • Provide comprehensive training to retailers on the features and benefits of service contracts and effective sales techniques.
  • Offer ongoing support and coaching to retailers to enhance their sales effectiveness and product knowledge.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing issues promptly and maintaining a proactive approach to service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in sales training, preferably in the service contract or retail industry.
  • Proven experience in training and development within a sales environment, with a track record of improving sales performance through coaching and skill-building.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage, inspire, and coach diverse sales teams effectively.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented, with a focus on enhancing team performance and driving overall sales success.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement sales training programs that support the achievement of sales targets and goals.
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to adapt training content to various learning styles and levels of experience.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage training schedules, follow-ups, and ongoing development of sales teams.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
