About the position

We are seeking a Floral Designer Apprentice to join our team at Oldsmar Florist. This part-time position is ideal for individuals who have a passion for flowers and a desire to learn the art of floral design. The role involves assisting experienced florists, interacting with customers, and maintaining an organized workspace while providing exceptional service.

Responsibilities

• Assisting experienced florists in creating beautiful floral arrangements.
• Learning about different types of flowers, their care, and handling techniques.
• Preparing and processing flowers for arrangements.
• Consulting with customers in person or on the phone and entering orders into the computer (training provided).
• Maintaining an organized workspace and ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored.
• Operating cash register systems accurately while processing customer transactions.

Requirements

• No prior experience required.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus.
• Sales experience in a retail environment is highly desirable.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
