About the position

As a CloudOps Engineer at Flourish, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to provide innovative access to financial products that help Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) secure their clients' financial futures. You will be at the forefront of high-impact, mission-critical projects that will enable us to advance our cloud-native journey. Collaborating with other engineers, you will transform ideas from the whiteboard into reality, contributing to key architectural decisions. Your primary responsibility will be to design and build infrastructure as code, adhering to industry best practices, particularly in terms of security. You will engineer self-service and automated solutions that empower application development teams to accelerate their workflows while ensuring compliance with security standards and requirements. You will leverage your knowledge of distributed systems and cloud-native technologies to enhance the experience for both customers and coworkers. Flourish, founded in 2017, focuses on helping financial advisors secure their clients' financial futures through scalable and user-friendly technology. We currently work with over 700 RIAs, managing more than $1.5 trillion in assets across our products: Flourish Annuities, Flourish Cash, and Flourish Crypto. As part of a small, highly collaborative, and rapidly growing startup backed by the stability of a Fortune 500 company, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact. In this role, you will embody the spirit of an engineer, with a strong focus on designing and building cloud-native infrastructure while embracing automation to eliminate repetitive tasks. You will possess an ownership mentality, striving to leave every project in a better state than you found it. Your insatiable curiosity will drive you to ask questions and seek improvements, thriving in an environment that demands strong problem-solving skills and independent self-direction, complemented by effective team collaboration and communication. You will be adept at explaining complex technical concepts to various stakeholders, including designers, support staff, and fellow engineers, ensuring clarity and understanding across the board. Your strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, programming languages, distributed systems, and information retrieval, will be essential to your success in this role.
