About the position

The FLRAA Software Process Manager is responsible for overseeing the software development plans and ensuring adherence to these plans for the FLRAA program. This role involves managing a team that provides technical support and reviews supplier software deliverables, as well as leading configuration management and Software Review Board activities.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Aircraft Level SW Plans (SDP, PSAC, SCMP, etc.)
  • Coordinate Software support teams including SQA, SW Cert, SW Cyber, SW Reliability, SW Design, SW Test and SW CM
  • Oversight and approval for Sub-system SW Plans for consistency with Aircraft Level SW Plans and Enterprise approach
  • Responsible for delivery of Software Management Report
  • Work with IPTs and suppliers for consistent SW metrics and means for capturing/tracking
  • Manage the SW Review Board and perform audits
  • Organize and document SWRB meetings
  • Ownership of lifecycle of Change Requests (SCRs) and process assurance of users
  • SW representative on Problem Report Review Board for PRs with SW implementation
  • Owns SW Configuration Management and create Configuration Management team
  • Owns process and lifecycle of DOORS and Dimensions tools
  • Owns SW Release Library and management and licensing of SW tools
  • Coordinate SW/HW release documentation with internal software teams and suppliers
  • Responsible for working with Systems Engineering team to ensure SRS, SDD, HRS, & HDD are successfully published from the Cameo model for releases per plans
  • Review all supplier software documents for compliance to plans and government DIDs
  • Participate in supplier program reviews for SW content
  • Participate in functional thread reviews and represent supplier content.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering is required
  • At least 8 years of experience in aircraft system/sub-system development and integration
  • Proficiency in DO-178C (Software Considerations in Airborne Systems and Equipment Certification)
  • 2 years of Technical Leadership experience
  • Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a US Govt Secret Security Clearance

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient in Agile processes, DevSecOps development on Airborne Embedded Systems
  • Familiar with MIL-STD-882 and AMCOM 385-17 Software safety standards
  • CAMEO, DOORs, and Microsoft ADO Proficient
  • Knowledgeable DO-178C and DO-254 execution
  • Experience with Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) is a plus
