About the position

Overview: We are looking for a Fulltime Fire Life Safety Director (FLSD) to work from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM at Class "A" properties in New York City. As a leading private security organization, we have immediate job opportunities for qualified candidates. The starting wage for this position is $26.00 per hour. To be eligible, candidates must be a New York State licensed security guard and hold a valid Z-89 or F-89 license. Specific Duties and Essential Functions: The primary responsibilities of the FLSD include maintaining accurate fire and life safety logbooks in accordance with the NYC Fire Code. The FLSD will act as a liaison between property management, building staff, and first responders during emergencies. Effective communication with site supervisors and property management is crucial. The role also involves conducting drills, training, and overseeing the fire and life safety plan in compliance with the NYC Fire Code. Additionally, the FLSD will ensure that all FDNY inspections, testing, and maintenance are scheduled, completed, and documented. The position may also require assisting in securing the facility, which includes access control, patrols, and other assigned duties.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Must be a New York State Licensed Security Officer.
  • Must have a valid F-89 license.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to pass any state-required training or other qualifications for licensing.
  • Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Active listening skills.
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively.
  • Attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 year of experience in Fire Safety (preferred).
